Leonora Christy "Chris" Smith, born Leonora Christy Jones on December 11, 1944, in Columbus, GA, was called to her eternal rest on March 22, 2024, in Marietta, Georgia.
At the venerable age of 79, she departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of love and steadfastness that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Leonora Gilley Jones and Tolbert Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Ronnie Smith & brother, Tyrone Jones.
Her memory will be forever treasured by her devoted sister, Cheryl Sterling of San Diego, California; her loving children, Tracie Day (and spouse Chris Day) and Joey Smith(and spouse Tracy Whorton Heimerl); her doting granddaughters, Keisha Bottino (and spouse Derek Bottino) and Whitley Butterworth (and spouse Brian Butterworth); and her adored great-grandchildren, Noah Day, Eli Butterworth, Isabella Bottino, and Colton Bottino.
Chris spent almost three fulfilling decades in service to others at Resurgens Orthopedics in Kennesaw, Georgia, where her presence was a source of comfort and care. Renowned for her kindness and nurturing spirit, she was a treasured colleague and friend.
Beyond her professional contributions, Chris was most at home in the company of her family, where her heart truly lay. Her greatest joy and pastime were the moments spent surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The family invites those who knew and loved Chris to remember and celebrate her life on March 30, 2024, at Georgia Funeral Care, located at 4671 S Main St Acworth, GA 30101.
Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm, with a funeral service to follow at 2 pm. Fellowship will be held at her daughter’s home right after the service. 5610 Woolwich Lane, Acworth GA 30101
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to St. Jude, an organization that was close to Chris’s heart and reflected her compassionate nature.
