Bowers, Lillian Reeves, age 92, died peacefully with family by her side Thursday June 14, 2018. She was born July 2, 1925, in Jasper, GA and was one of five children of the late Clarence and Ethel Reeves. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband C. J. Bowers, sister Myrtle Reeves Hackney, and brothers Clarence Reeves and George Reeves. She is survived by her sister Martha Reeves Perkins (Carl) Canton, GA; nieces and nephews, Vivian Hackney of Decatur, Pamela Perkins of Milton, Charles Reeves (Mary) of Harlem, GA and Malcolm Hackney (Liz) of Decatur and great nieces and nephews and three great -great nieces and nephews. Her very best friend Camille Bell of Griffin, GA. also survives Lillian.
Lillian and her late husband C. J. Bowers operated an accounting, bookkeeping and insurance business in Atlanta. Lillian enjoyed an active lifestyle through out her life and was still doing her own gardening and cutting her own grass well into her late eighties. She was a loving sister, supportive and loving aunt, and a loyal friend. The family would like to thank Hospice Atlanta Center in Brookhaven for their unwavering and tender care.
Internment will be at 1:00 PM, June 20 at Forest Hill Memorial Gardens, Forest Park, GA. The Reverend Chris Starr will officiate.
