In Loving Memory of Linda Catherine Moore

Linda Moore, a spirited and adventurous woman, passed away on July 26, surrounded by her family and with the love of all her friends. Born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 17, 1943, Linda embodied a true Americana spirit of warmth, kindness, and determination. She touched the lives of many through her extraordinary journey, and her legacy shines bright.
Linda grew up in Concordia, Kansas, graduating from Concordia High School in 1961 and completing her education at Marymount College. Upon graduation, she embarked on a distinguished career working at the Pentagon in Washington D.C. during the Cold War. In 1969, Linda exchanged vows with James Peters, and in April of 1970, their family began to blossom with the arrival of three precious children - Lisa Ann, Alison Catherine, and James Andrew.
Linda began her career as a travel agent in 1982 beginning with Eastern Airlines and then moving to American Express, where she retired in 2011. As a travel agent, Linda was able to travel for work and found herself in New York City at Ground Zero on the fateful day of September 11, 2001. She witnessed the attack on the World Trade Center from her hotel room across the street in the Millenium Hilton. Linda was able to safely walk from Manhattan to Brooklyn with thousands of others.Unsure of what to do, a stranger who worked for American express took her in. It took 3 days for Linda to make her way home.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Linda had a passion for exploring the world and immersing herself in different cultures. She traversed across 20 countries and all 50 states, leaving behind a trail of cherished memories and friendships. Her insatiable curiosity and thirst for adventure allowed her to seek and embrace the beauty of our world.
In her personal life, Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She nurtured her family with boundless love and instilled in them the values of compassion, adventure, and perseverance. Her unwavering support and guidance will forever be treasured by her loved ones. Linda leaves behind a legacy that is woven with love, adventure, and the indomitable human spirit. A legacy of cherished memories, unforgettable stories, and a profound influence on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, July 31st, 2023 at Mt. Bethel Church Family and friends are welcome to join in commemorating the remarkable life of Linda Catherine Moore. Linda was predeceased by her mother, Maurine Catherine Moore, her father, John Wheeland Moore and her sister, Katrina Moore Alley. She is survived by her brother, John Wheeland Moore II, her children, Lisa Ann Logan (Todd), Alison Peters Brown (Derek) and James Andrew Peters, along with her six grand-children Alec & Austin Bunce, T.J, Ethan & Emma Brown, Josephine Peters and her sister’s children Jessica Stagg and Justin Alley.
