LOLITA (Lolly) LEA (SCHARFENBERG) ROSS
Born January 2, 1940 in Davenport, IA to Carl and Alice Scharfenberg, (Both deceased).
After a long illness, at home in Woodstock, GA, with her husband, on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022, at 7:15 pm, Lolly peacefully slipped her earthly bonds and has been added to her Heavenly Home.
Lolly leaves behind her husband of 39 years, Danny Ross; a daughter, Lynda Green and son, John Green. She loved and took great pride in her daughter, Lynda, a Nurse Practitioner and her son, John, Director at Verizon. She also enjoyed getting her husband, Santa Dan, ready daily, during Santa season at North point Mall, for 23 years. She also cherished her beloved dog, Andy.
In Davenport Iowa High School, she excelled in the German Language Club and was an officer for several years in the D.E.C.A. Club. She talked about her first job at 15 years old, of being an Usher and Popcorn Maker at the Esquire theater in Davenport, IA.
Lolly also leaves behind many friends from many places and especially her dear friends from Sandy Springs Christian Church (SSCC) in Sandy Springs, GA.
Lolly had a brilliant mind, a sharp as a tack humor, even when very sick, and she succeeded in life on many levels. She loved Bridge and was an accomplished Bridge player. She played at different locations in the Atlanta, GA area, including playing often at the above SSCC. She also started several bridge groups.
She had an avid interest in Journalism and had articles published in the past. She attended Journalism classes at Emory College. She also attended St. Ambrose and Scott Community College.
Lolly started and maintained several businesses over the years, but her favorite and most successful was targeted at helping Women with a Business. She helped them to organize and streamline their business to increase their profits. Lolly named her company “Silent Partners”.
Lolly leaves a wonderful legacy of success and happiness. She is already missed and we are all better off for having known her.
