Marjorie Jeannette Wohlford Thomason of Atlanta, GA, passed away May 5, 2018. She was born in Akron, Ohio, on March 2, 1922, to Cleveland and Ada Wohlford. She was graduated from Akron City Hospital Nursing School in 1944. Marjorie served the country as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps during World War II. She was an avid golfer and loved to play bridge. Marjorie will be remembered for her quick wit and devotion to family.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty years, Lee R. Thomason, and a son, William Ray Thomason. She leaves behind three sons: David L. Thomason (Brenda) of Palm Coast, Fl, Robert W. Thomason (Pat) of Cartersville, GA, and James A. Thomason (Lynne) of Cumming, GA; five grandchildren: Michelle Smoak, Gregg Thomason, Christopher Thomason, Eric Thomason, and Cary Thomason; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service officiated by Reverend Julie Wright followed by a reception will be held on Wednesday, May 9, at 11:00 AM at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, located at 3180 Peachtree Road, NE, Atlanta, GA, where she was a long-time member of the Timothy Sunday School class. Her ashes will be interred at a later with a ceremony in the Georgia National Cemetery.
