Nancy Elizabeth Wintrode was born to Glenn and Elizabeth Wintrode, and raised in Bel Air, Maryland. She was a creative child, and grew to be an accomplished painter, writer, model, and actress.
Nancy attended the University of Maryland, then moved to Gadsden, Alabama after marriage. She was active in her church and worked with the food distribution center, served on many committees, and helped organize events.
Her husband and six children were her priority, though she held on to her free spirit. Nancy was always learning, and her life was full of artistic endeavors. She balanced it all with style and grace.
On March 11, 2021, Nancy passed away peacefully at home with her children beside her. She left the legacy of a woman whose independence was ahead of her time, and whose wisdom was deep as the ocean. She could light up any room, and that light is too bright to ever be extinguished. Her memory will be carried on for many generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Joseph Spivak, her parents, Glenn and Elizabeth Wintrode, and her brothers, Glenn and James. She is survived by her six children, Leslie (Rick), Lisa, Loretta, Scott, Linda (Don), and Peter, along with eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Gadsden, AL on September 25, 2021 at 11:00am.
