Norah Eliana Aracena passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024 in her home at Celebration Village in Acworth, GA. She was 97 years old. Nory, as she was lovingly known was born on May 12, 1926 in Antofagasta, Chile to Rosa and Esteban. She met her husband Manuel Morales in Antofagasta, Chile in 1949. Manuel was born in Madrid, Spain and after World War II he moved to Chile.
Nory and Manuel were married on December 8, 1949, they lived in Santiago, Chile where they raised their three children Norah, Miguel Angel and Ricardo. Later on Nory and Manuel moved to Vina del mar, Chile where they lived for 25 years enjoying the beautiful Pacific Ocean. In 2000 her husband Manuel passed away and in 2006 her son Ricardo passed away.
In 2008, she moved to Acworth to join her daughter Norah. Her son Miguel angel still lives in Santiago. Nory loved listening to classical music and painting colorful landscapes and birds, she also loved to travel. Nory is survived by her daughter Norah and her husband Jorge, her son Miguel Angel and his wife Maria Elena, her grandsons Jorge, Christian, Miguel Angel, and Jose Thomas, her granddaughters Ghislaine, Maria Elena, Macarena, Estefania and her great granddaughters Cameron, Amelia , Eleonor, Emma, Olivia and great grandson Luke. Nori loved it when one of her great granddaughters called her Ita.
Her big wish was to someday go back to Vina del Mar in Chile. Now that she is with the lord, her daughter Norah and her husband Jorge will be taking her ashes to Vina del Mar and in the company of her brother Miguel Angel, his wife Maria Elena and the rest of the family in Chile they will scatter her ashes on the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. This will make her wishes come true.
Nory was loved by so many and will be forever missed by everyone who knew her. Memorial Service for Nory will be at Georgia Funeral Care, 4671 South Main Street, Acworth GA, 30101 On Saturday February 10, 2024. Visitation with Family and friends will be from 9-10 the service will begin at 10:00 am in the chapel.
