Carolyn RoseAnn Hale, age 78, of Acworth, Georgia, passed away on January 18, 2017.

She was born in Leroy, Illinois, January 21, 1938, the second child and only daughter of Louis Franklin and Leona Elizabeth (Lesher) Shoemaker. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her ex-husband Junior Lee Hale, and two of her children, Jack Louis and Steven Kelly Hale.

She is survived by two brothers, Raymond Shoemaker of Smyrna, Georgia, and Paul (Bonnie) Shoemaker of Gibson City, Illinois; daughter, Lorraine (Hale) Killcreas of Acworth, and son Mark (Mary) Hale of Erwin, Tennessee; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She always told people she wasn’t retired, as you couldn’t retire from being a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed a quiet routine life as an avid reader, often reading 10-15 books a week and filled in between books with working crossword puzzles.

She enjoyed people and family and she will be a lasting memory to all who knew her, and will be missed by all.

Memorial Service on Saturday, January 21, 2017, on her 79th birthday, 5:00 pm, at Georgia Funeral Care, of Acworth, Georgia.
