Cynthia Abell Hogate, 55, of Adairsville, Georgia, passed away May 5, 2017 in Rome, Georgia. Celebration of Life will be held at Red Top Mountain Group Pavilion #2 on May 11, 2017 at 2pm. Cremation services were held at Georgia Funeral Care & Cremation, Acworth, Georgia.

Cynthia was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on February 23, 1962. As a teenager she lived in Flagler Beach, Florida. Cynthia met her ex-husband in Florida. Wayne Harvey Hogate and Cynthia Ann Abell married on June 24, 1981. The newlyweds moved back to Atlanta to start their life. Their daughter,
Sarah Ann Hogate, was born on March 14, 1990. Wayne and Cynthia went their separate ways in February 1997. Cynthia started her new way of life with Sarah. Cynthia decided to become clean on February 2, 1997. At the time of her death, Cynthia had 20 years clean. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word games, butterflies, roses, NA, chocolate, playing with her Jack Russell Terrier, Dakota, and spending time with her family.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Enoch Howard Abell and Vera Carol Dorothy Ellard;
her grandparents, Helen Chase Ellard and Wilbur Ellard, Gertrude Ernestine Greene Abell and Enoch Oliver Abell.

Cynthia is survived by her daughter, Sarah Ann Hogate-Shook; her son, James Christopher Shook, Sr.; her son, Dakota 'Wildman' Davidson Hogate; her grandson, Clayton Thomas Shook; her granddaugher, Kayleigh Ann Trezevant Shook; her grandson, James Christopher Shook, Jr.; her sister, Elizebeth Abell Scudder; her brother, Enoch Maurice Abell; and her brother, Gregory Scott Abell.
