Patricia Dea-Ledford passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 at Cartersville Medical Center under the care of Regency SouthernCare Hospice. Better know as Pat, she was born January 3, 1934 in Montreal Quebec, Canada. The daughter of James and Agnes Dea, She was the youngest of twelve siblings.
Pat cared for and raised her two daughters and two sons while living overseas and in the USA due to her ex husband serving in the Air Force. She enjoyed traveling the world during this time of her life while sharing those travel experiences with her four children. Once her children were old enough, Pat entered the hospitality field where she worked at Kay's Kastle, Bonanza and Goody's.
Pat enjoyed shopping especially for antiques such as home accessories, clocks, furniture and trinkets. She was known for her red hair which could easily be spotted if trying to find her in a store. Pat enjoyed listening to classic country western music and singers of standards. Up until her fifties , she enjoyed to dance and earned trophies due to her dancing skills. Pat was proud of her French-Irish heritage and could still speak some in her senior years. She was a huge animal lover. The family always had at least one animal and sometimes multiple species at one time or another.
Pat is survived by her daughter Suzie Ledford of Kennesaw, GA, her son Bob Ledford of Cartersville, GA and son Jim Ledford, son-in-law Seth Quick, of Aiken, SC. Her grandchildren Katie Bassett and her husband Jeremy Bassett of Cartersville, GA, Conner Horton of Kennesaw, GA and Jordan Ledford of Canton, GA. Her great grandchildren Lance Baker, Elizabeth Parra, Harper James and Addyson Bassett all of Cartersville, GA.
A private family service will be held graveside at Sunset Memory Gardens in Cartersville, GA.
