Richard Warren Griffin, 73, of Acworth, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, after complications from a fall.
A celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Born on December 9, 1949, in Gainesville, Georgia, he was the son of late Janet Cato Griffin and William Rudolph Griffin of Gillsville. Richard was known as a jack of all trades. He owned his own business and used his gifts and talents to help others. In his early days, Richard was a NHRA national champion race car driver several times over.
Richard was a loving husband, devoted father, and friend. He loved to joke and took pride in helping others. He especially loved his dogs. Richard met the love of his life Anne Miller Griffin in 1984. They soon realized they were made for each other. They spent their 39 years together with love, laughter and collecting small treasures (too much stuff).
Richard is survived by his wife, Anne Miller Griffin of Acworth; son Stacey Griffin of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law Candace and Bryan Wilbanks of Gainesville, Georgia; grandchildren Skylar Wilbanks, Chesney Wilbanks and Bryce Wilbanks; great-grandson Truett Cloud; brothers Timmy Griffin and Randall Griffin of Gainesville, Georgia and other nieces and nephews form all around.
