Robert Michael Hayter (Mike)

Robert Michael Hayter (Mike) died at age 65 in Lagrange, Georgia on Thursday, June 24, 2021. He had battled pancreatic cancer for almost 2 years and passed away peacefully at West Georgia Hospice in Lagrange.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents Albert Jack Hayter and Mary Cross Hayter. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Amy Hayter; his children, Sarah Elkins and husband Scott Elkins, and their children, Anthony Hayter, Taylor Elkins, and James Elkins, son Michael Hayter, daughter Krislynn Jones and her daughter Erza Jones, daughter Abbey Galviz, and son Stephen Hayter and wife Emily Hayter; his sister, Sherri Baldwin and husband Donny Baldwin.

Mike was born in Seattle, Washington on November 22, 1955. He graduated high school in California and went on to join the United States Navy. Following his time in the service, he worked various jobs. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the Lord with all his heart and had a passion for serving others. He was involved in many different ministries such as Atlanta Christian Cursillo Movement, Middle School, and High School ministries at Gwinnett Church, and coaching little league sports, among others.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Northwest Christian Church (3737 Dallas Acworth Hwy NW, Acworth, Georgia 30101). Pastor Jeff Struecker will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to be made out to Amy Hayter at 411 Lago Ct. Lagrange, Georgia 30241. Additionally, a brief burial service will be held on Monday, July 5, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at the Georgia National Cemetery (1080 Scott Hudgens Dr., Canton, Georgia 30114). Any who would like to join are welcome to do so.
