Ronald "Mike" Nowicki, 62, of Rome, Georgia, passed away in the comforts of his home on September 23rd, 2018 surrounded by his loving wife, Terri, family members, and those who loved him, following a battle with cancer.
Mike, a quiet, loving, and extremely generous man loved spending time with his wife and grandchildren; either it be taking time for a short vacation to the Florida shores or watching his beloved FSU football team. He spent his last moments at home watching his team bring in the win, seemingly in his honor.
As the fairytale goes, he married his high school sweetheart, but waited over twenty years until an alumni website reunited them again. Mike and Terri were truly the blessed pair for 18 years. Mike worked as a structural engineer, available day and night to his clients and partners, as he was devoted to perfection in the completion of his work. As dedicated to his family and work as he was, he honorably served St. Mary's Catholic Church as an Usher and Faithful Captain, serving the church and parishioners in the Knights of Columbus. There are no amount of words to describe the love and integrity, charitable and honest behaviors Mike exemplified in all his interactions and endeavors.
He is survived by his soulmate and wife, Terri Lynne Nowicki; his daughters, Tiffani Brooke Curry (Aaron), Sarah Rebecca Lynne Keeton and Elizabeth Brooke Druyor (Lori); his father, Ronald Michael Nowicki Sr.; sisters, Lannie Morefield, Terry Lynn Hawkins, and brother, Gerald Nowicki. Grandchildren include Kennedy Grace Curry, Corbyn James Keeton, Emilyn McKay Keeton, Samantha Paige Druyor, Trista Rhea Keeton, and Evan Bradley Keeton. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ophelia Nowicki.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rome, Georgia on Saturday, September 29th, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Knights of Columbus of Rome, Georgia or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
