Albert Joseph Sharp, age 80, of Acworth, GA, passed away Sunday Dec.19,2021. Born July 17, 1941 in Brooklyn New York, he was the son of the late Albert E. and Lillian (Maskrey) Sharp. He graduated Lafayette High school in 1959, served four years in the Air Force as Military Police. He worked for Sheet Metal Workers Local #40 in Connecticut for 30 yrs., then for 15 yrs. at OEM Controls as a Draftsman, retiring in 2010 and moving to Georgia. He was an avid bowler and a life long member of The Knights of Columbus. Coached Little League when his sons were young and was a time keeper at the swim meets for all four of his children. He traveled the east coast watching his grandsons play college baseball then watched the boys play minor league baseball on the computer.
He was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Pepe. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Markus) Sharp; sons , Albert J. Sharp Jr., wife Deborah; son John, wife Illiana; daughters, Jacqueline Kuzia, husband Tom; Paula Rek, husband, Edward; grandsons; John O’Donoghue, Joseph and Nicholas Kuzia, and granddaughter, Maddison Sharp; several nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are made by Georgia Funeral Care in Acworth, Ga. for January 13th, 2022. Mass will be at Transfiguration Catholic Church located at 1815 Blackwell Rd Marietta, GA 30066. 11am mass. Internment 2pm National VA Cemetery in Canton, GA. No calling hours, if you would like to pay your respects before hand you may be able to do so before mass services. No reception following interment due to Covid-19.
