Edwin M. Karp of Kennesaw GA passed away December 4, 2021, at the age of 91 after a life well lived and loved. Formerly of Framingham and Mashpee MA, Ed resided in Kennesaw GA for the past 5 years.
Born in Framingham Massachusetts in January 1930, he is preceded in death by his parents Julia (Janus) and Stanley Karp who immigrated from Poland, his brother Jackie (John) Karp, and his granddaughter Brittany Karp.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Jane (Keefe) Karp; 4 children; daughter Kathleen and her husband Jim Muto of Kennesaw GA; daughter Mary Jane and her husband Ed Dyer of Mashpee MA; son Rusty (Edwin Jr.) Karp and his fiancé Karen Black of Hudson FL; daughter Jennifer Norton and her partner Joe Golensky of Hyannis MA and Oviedo FL, 9 Grandchildren, 8 Great grandchildren, 3 Great-Great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his cat Paws.
Ed proudly served his country joining the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he received a Purple heart and Oak-Leaf cluster. He returned to Framingham and worked for the U.S. Postal Service where he was a Rural Carrier until retirement, he also worked as a tile man for many years before permanently retiring on Cape Cod late in life. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and 3rd degree member of Knights of Columbus. He was also an avid animal lover and never met a stranger.
Visitation is 10:30-12:30 and funeral is 12:30-1:30 on Monday January 10, 2022, at Georgia Funeral Care 4671 S Main St. Acworth GA. A burial service will follow 3:00-3:30 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton GA.
