Sampson Dewayne Boykin affectionately known as “Wayne” was born in Haywood County, Brownsville, TN. He was the fourth child to the Union of Mary Azalee Williams and Sampson Floydell Boykin.
Sadly, he departed this life at 3:10pm, November 29, 2022, at The Atlanta VA Hospital.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father Sampson Floydell Boykin and brother Steven Floydell Boykin. He was a Graduate of Roosevelt Jr. Sr. High School, in Roosevelt NY. He was a successful owner/ operator. He was very family oriented. He served dutifully in the United States Marines Corps. Sampson was outgoing, friendly, never met a stranger and loved by many.
Wayne met and married Patricia Anne Baxter, his High School Sweetheart. They married on July 10, 1990. To this beautiful union, three children were born.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a wife Patricia Anne Baxter Boykin of Atlanta, Georgia and three children, Jamelle Dewayne Boykin (Camisha Boykin) of Lawrenceville, Ga, Erica Alyse Boykin Anderson (Omari) of College Park, Ga, and Dominique Isaiah Boykin of San Francisco, Ca. His mother Mary Azalee Williams and four siblings, Deborah (Thomas), Quinnie of Stone Mountain, Ga, Dora (Larry) Williams of Covington, Ga, Rodney Boykin of Atlanta, Ga, and Mary (Dwight) Hooper of Ellenwood, Ga. Four Grandchildren Ahriel Allah Boykin, Cole Dewayne Boykin, Eden Serene Boykin, Ava Alyse Anderson, and host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, family and loved ones. We, the Boykin family, are very grateful for the love and sympathy that we have garnered from everyone, in our time of sorrow. We thank all of you for Christian support, concern.
