Sharon “Sheri” Kay VanDyke, 73, of Acworth, Georgia, was taken “up to the Spirit in the sky” on July 4, 2020. She passed away in a local hospital due to a stroke. She will forever be missed by her loved ones.
Sheri was born on December 22,1946 in Biloxi, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Beatrice H. Peabody and the late Hjalmer R. Kivisto. She is survived by her two children, Kimberly Van Dusen (Pete) and Samuel VanDyke, three beautiful grandchildren, Nichole Van Dusen, Austin VanDyke and Christian Van Dusen.
Sheri is preceded in death by her grandson, Hampden Lewis Wellington Ipser IV, and her step-father Curtis L. Peabody Jr.
Sheri’s friends and family describe her as a very spiritual person. Astrology and monitoring her biorhythms were among her passions. She would always tell you if you were going to have a good or bad day, with a joke to go along with it. She also loved working in her yard, taking care of her many plants and flowers. Two of her other loves in life were her cats, Max and Joey.
A private memorial service will be held by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her memory.
