Shirley Denman Varney of Dallas, Ga, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021 from Covid-19 complications. She was 75.
She was born in Atlanta on August 30, 1945 to Melvin and Inez Denman. She attended school at Lena H. Cox Elementary and West Fulton High School. She later moved to Austell, Ga, and married David Varney. She was a hair stylist and worked in child care for over 25 years. She was a member of Ewing Road Baptist Church. Her hobbies were sewing and growing flowers. She enjoyed making quilts and stuffed animals for family and friends. She had a big heart and loved people.
Survivors include her son, Dana Holt (Sherri), Acworth; Brother, Larry Denman (JoAnn), Cedartown; Sister, Jackie McKown, Douglasville; sister, Margie Huddleston (Doyle), Austell; grandchildren, Zachary, Madison, David, Kaden and Destiny; nieces, nephews, cousins and her precious little dog, Bubba.
Shirley was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. At her request, she will be cremated and laid to rest at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs, Ga. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
