Susan Meyer Murray, died April 11 at the Benton House of Woodstock under the care of Agape Hospice Care surrounded by her children.
She was born September 24, 1949 in Savannah, GA, the daughter of Joseph W. and Jean B. Meyer.
Susan was a graduate of Jenkins High School in 1967. She married William B. “Buddy” Murray Jr. on June 29, 1968, and they were happily married for over 51 years until Buddy passed away in 2019. Susan worked for almost 30 years at Memorial Hospital as an office manager for several different practices. Susan loved to go to the beach, plant flowers in her yard, read the latest “Oprah’s Book Club” picks, and try new restaurants, always dressed in her Talbots’ best. She never missed a St. Patrick’s Day parade or her children’s activities or sporting events. She was always the first to volunteer to chaperone and drive her kids and their friends around in the “Murray Mobile”.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Tim Maguire, of Atlanta GA, her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Katie Murray, of Atlanta GA, her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Gail Murray, of Marietta, GA, and grandchildren Virginia and Henry Maguire and Jay and Christian Murray. Also surviving, are the wonderful people from Back in the Day Bakery and Sandfly BBQ that took such good care of her and Buddy on their weekly visits.
The graveside service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 22nd at Bonaventure Cemetery.
