Sydmoure Bruce Clayton was known to his family, friends and loved ones as Syd or Cowboy Syd. He entered this world on July 7, 1955 in Hartford, Connecticut and made his transition on September 30, 2020, in Woodstock, GA. Syd is survived by his younger brother, Richard Earle Clayton, and his sister, Sherna Clayton-Lee. However, he is also known by a number of people in the area for his love of horses, dogs, chickens, and other animals. He was an accomplished carpenter, and lawn care expert
Syd is the middle child of Selvin and Madeline Clayton. Both his parents made their transition before Syd.
Syd owned one of the first horse-drawn carriage companies to operate in downtown Atlanta, GA. He and his beloved horse Sinbad also participated in numerous parades and festivities in Atlanta throughout the 90s until 2011. He gave many people advice on horses, and other domestic pets, and even built a number of chicken coups for customers throughout North Georgia.
Syd was a Marine, or as he often reminded everyone, ‘is still a Marine’.
The family elected to have Syd cremated, and the ashes will be placed near his mother’s ashes.
Syd, your journey is over. Get on your heavenly horse or motorcycle and tour the world. You were a great human being, and your joy has had a positive impact on everyone that knew you.
