Terrance James Ewbank

Terrance James Ewbank - Born in Minnesota on September 17, 1950, Terrance James Ewbank, (Terry) was the 1st son of James and Nancy Ewbank.  Being of a military family he lived several places before graduating from Inglemoor High in Bothell, WA in 1968.  He attended the University of Washington until he joined the Marines in 1969. He was assigned to a Marine Air Squadron in Da Nang and arrived just in time for the squadron to rotate back to Okinawa, Japan missing the chance to serve in country.  He was also stationed in Iwakuni.  While in Japan he stated his lifelong love of racing, in all forms.  It began with motocross races in the Japanese hills.  He settled in California when he left the Marines as a Sergeant. 

While in California he worked for the Southern California Gas Company for 37 years, and joined the Army National Guard.  He was in the Air Calvary until he went to Officer’s school, after which he went into Tanks.  He made company commander and retired as a Captain.  He also continued his racing life, by first racing go-karts, and then dragging in his 1970 Nova, and finally bought and raced legend cars.  He was a lifelong fan of NASCAR, Formula 1, and well anything that had wheels and went fast. He retired to the Georgia Mountains with his wife Dorothy and began exploring racetracks on the East Coast. 

He is survived by his Wife Dorothy, Son Erik, Daughter Amber, Mother Nancy, Brothers Ken and David, Sisters Nancy and Margie and their families.  The funeral will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2019, 1 PM, in the chapel of Georgia Funeral Care, 4671 S. Main St. Acworth, GA.  The family will receive friends for a visitation prior to the service at 12 Noon.  Burial will take place on Tuesday, March 12, 2019, 9 AM at Georgia National Cemetery, in Canton, GA.
