He retired in Atlanta, GA in 1989 and put down roots in Marietta. He went on to work as an air traffic controller at several local airports, and when he was unable to continue, he worked in the field of FAA flight procedures until his death. He loved his family and friends, his dogs, old westerns, Alabama football, and aviation. He will be remembered for his kindness, willingness to help people, and his wicked sense of humor.
