Vincent Pumillo, 78, of Acworth, GA passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on August 10th, 2023. Vincent (Vinny) was born on December 20th, 1944 in Pozzallo, Italy to Giovanni and Rosa Pumillo. He was the older brother to Micheal and Rina.
Vinny immigrated to Brooklyn, N.Y in November 1961. He married the love of his life, Helen Zucconi, in June 1968. Together they raised their two sons, Michael and Steven and their daughter, Vanessa.
Throughout his life, Vinny was hard-working and determined. After immigrating from Sicily, Vinny worked many jobs including in a pizzeria, restoring furniture, and construction until settling into a career in computer programming. In his later years, he started a restaurant delivery service with his family.
Vinny had a passion for playing and coaching soccer. He played semi-professionally and later coached his kids’ teams. He was instrumental in starting one of Long Island’s first soccer academies. In addition, he enjoyed traveling and he cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Michael and his mother, Rosa. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Helen, his children Michael (Linda), Steven (Kristi) and Vanessa (Jerry) DeMarmels; his eight grandchildren, Caroline, Amanda, Justin, Kevin, AJ, Katherine, Ava and Meghan and his beloved sister Rina.
