William "Ted" Amburgey, 79, of Acworth, GA, passed away Friday, September 6 th , 2024 in Cedar Bluff, Alabama after injuries from a vehicle accident.

Ted was born in Welch, WV on March 8th, 1945, the son of the late Lucinda Ann Williams and Huey H. Amburgey. He was preceded in death by his brothers Ira Amburgey, Jack Clifford Amburgey and sisters Vaughn Amburgey, Joy Virginia Cumberledge, Dorothy P. Fuller and son-in-law Christopher Thomas Cash.

Ted graduated from Graham High School in 1964, then immediately joined the Air Force and served until honorably discharged in 1970. Ted faithfully served his country as an airplane mechanic, during which time, he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.

Ted worked as a delivery driver at Edwards Pie Company known by many as "The Pie Man" and then took a job at Lockheed Martin as an aircraft mechanic and later as a flight line inspector for the company. He worked at Lockhead Martin until he retired in September, 2014.

Ted especially loved his family, friends and traveling. He was a huge fan of Nascar and adventures, sightseeing and trying new foods.

He attended Emerson Church in Emerson, GA.

Ted was always the life of the party and loved making people laugh. He was a larger than life hero to his daughter and grandsons.

Remaining to cherish his memory are his only Daughter, Tressa Amburgey Cash and his Grandsons, Lee Christopher Cash (wife Jessica), Jesse Daniel Cash (finance Melissa Snelling) and William Blake Cash, surviving Great-Grandsons, Samual Lee, Matthew Christopher, and Daniel Jon Cash. Ted’s other loving remaining family members include his niece, Sandra Kay Horn, his great nephews James Robert (and family) and William David Horn (and family), great niece Lucinda Ann Windham, niece Lorna Zobenica (and family) great nephew James E. Burrier (and family) and Niece Susie Keczan (and Family) and many more.

Visitation will be held September 14th at 12:00 p.m. at Georgia Funeral Care, in Acworth, GA.

Services will be held following the visitation at 2:00 pm.

Burial will take place 9/24/24 1pm at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Ga. Pallbearers will be Lee, Jesse and Blake Cash, Jeb Burrier, Marshall Miller and James Robert Horn.
